Iran, Philippines FMs meet on sidelines of UNGA

H.E. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran who has traveled to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with H.E. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines

H.E. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with H.E. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, on Saturday, 26 September 2026.

During the meeting, the H.E. Araghchi outlined the latest developments in the region and Iran’s efforts to restore peace and security.

H.E. Lazaro expressed hope that insecurity would come to an end as soon as possible and that peace and lasting stability would return to the region.

The foreign ministers of Iran and the Philippines also exchanged views on expanding Tehran- Manila bilateral relations in various areas of mutual interest.
